Jon received his undergraduate degree form Eckerd College in ST. Petersburg, Florida. He entered the financial services business in 1991 and in 1994 moved to Atlanta, where he served as the Branch Manager for J.P. Atkinson and Associates. In 1996, he became Vice President of U.S. Planning Group to build a more client friendly approach to financial planning. Jon founded his own independent wealth advisory firm in February of 2000: Baker Financial Group, now known as Jon Baker Financial Group. Jon holds a CFP® and a Masters of Science in Financial Planning.
Jon has been chosen to provide educational workshops for executives through several associations in Atlanta including Right Management, Kettering, ExecuNet, ACPI and SHRM. At the request of numerous companies, Jon has educated hundreds of employees as they transition from their current positions to the next stage of their lives.
Jon and his wife Pam are very committed to the CF Foundation. He is a long-standing board member and two-term president (2005 and 2006). He is actively involved in several fund raising events ranging from black tie galas to the Great Strides Walk. In recognition of his dedication and service, the National Cystic Fibrosis Foundation elected Jon to their Leadership Council for 2006-2007.He is currently the elect Chair for Major Gifts (2009-2010).
Jon Baker’s skill at creating satisfying experiences for his clients is enhanced by his own team. Jon’s team includes a client relationship group who interacts with clients to arrange meeting, schedule speaking engagements and insure that clients are well informed. Jon also has his own service team who assists in the implementation of financial strategies and field administrative questions and more importantly, provide answers and take action where needed. Jon is assisted in the financial planning process by a team of skilled and experienced professionals.
